Thai Eggplants in Rockwool drip feed
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share an update on the two eggplants we have growing in our tent at the store=) These are about 6 weeks into bloom with tons of flowers and fruits hopefully developing in the next week or so.
I've been doing a side by side with hps and led lights, and I have to say that although they have been close, the led has proven to show healthier stronger growth throughout.
I'm running (2) 1/4" drip lines from a 1/2" hose which each drip 1 gph, feeding every few days when needed. The 2 plants share the same food and even root zone with the shared grow slab between them.
The full spectrum LED definitely has an edge on the quality of light against the HPS and it shows in the leaf structure and amount of flowers produced.
It has been a little challenging knowing how much to feed them, as eggplants are very heavy feeders @ 1750-2500 ppm! My meter actually only goes up to 1800 😆 So I just try to gauge by the amount of solution i put in but its a little hard to dial in. This is my first time growing eggplants in rockwool, so I'm pretty happy with the progress.
Hope you enjoy the update, thanks for following and upvoting!

Wow. That is so beautiful.nice work
thanks for saying @hiranur=)
Nice, those leaves look really interesting, growing a few eggplants in the greenhouse this year called pinstripe didnt realise they are such heavy feeders 👍
I've never grow pinstripes but hear they put out a ton of fruit=) I've had success with these before in rich soil with a ton of perlite but the rockwool has been a challenge for me so far.
