I have the strong suspicion that we fall for these new packages because of the name. Call something democratic and people have a hard time finding the catch in it. Call something protective for the children and people are too bamboozled to see the actual effects these institutions have on family cohesion and the important growing-up process.
It's all coming to light now...
"Branding" and worded layers are at play. And many always fall for it. If they saw the actual effect, they would take down their government immediately, but they are unaware they are being exploited.
