In real life there are only Jerry Maguires'; tackling life realities while standing for the good we believe in

in #humanrelations8 years ago

If you haven't watched the movie based on true story called Jerry Maguire, here is a quick snapshot! Jerry was working as a Sports agent for a big company and after seeing the way the company treats the sportsmen who are injured or retired or not making money...

He writes a memo about how the company should be humane with these players!

He gets a standing ovation and applaudes and he gets FIRED that afternoon.

When you watch any TV show or movie they show how the RIGHT meets GOOD, always.

In real life that is a bit of a stretch. The more likely scenario is that if you are righteous and good you will meet testing times and people who exploit your good.

We see this in our everyday life, those that do the right thing get axed first while those who have learned the games continue to make these righteous people as their stepping stones.

Standing for good doesn't guarantee good but that shouldn't stop us from standing for what we know is right

There is an episode in Blue Bloods where Mayor's daughter gets arrested for smoking pot in public place. She is full of attitude and Mayor reaches out to the commissioner to ask him to Pardon his daughter. Commissioner tells him that "in life sometimes NOT saving your kids is the BEST lesson you can impart."

Mayor in a dramatic dialog asks the judge to punish his daughter so that she learns to respect the law.

How dandy!

The police who makes the arrest is commissioner's son. If this happened in real life, the police would live in fear getting axed or worse!

I am not saying that we should choose wrong or non-righteous ways fearing the consequences. My point of this article was to showcase how the media builds the FALSE ideas about how life works or should work.

Fiction for sale

They do the same thing about romance and romantic life. They insert it in the minds of young boys and girls about the magic and wonder of human relationships and when that fantasy doesn't compare with real life - people think life has short-changed them.

Where in fact, relationships are supposed to be about dealing with realities of life in a pragmatic way with the help of friends and family.

Most people in today's world are unhappy because MEDIA is playing with their minds and defining what happiness is SUPPOSED to look like. We are not happy for what we are blessed with but unhappy about what someone has posted on facebook or news or someone's fortune etc.

In other worlds, our definition of relationships, happiness and how life should transpire is a result of false conditioning.

The only way we can stand for the good we believe in whether it is in society or personal relationships or professional circles is by separating the fiction and fantasy from truth and reality.

Only then can we truly tackle life with its ups and downs without living a distracted life.

Opinion. Not an advice.
