The first human head transplant in the world after months
Russian Valery Spidinorov heads for first world head transplant

An Italian surgeon has scheduled the first full-scale head transplant in the world involving 80 surgeons.

"The proposed time for the operation is the Christmas period this year," Dr. Sergio Canaviero, director of the Italian Medical Association for Advanced Neurosurgery, was quoted by the Science Times on Wednesday (March 29th) as saying.

The operation will be done by cutting off the head and pulling the spinal cord of the wanted to be carried, and transferred to a body died recently, and then stimulate them through the electrical impulses after a month of coma.
A 31-year-old Russian youth donated his head to the operation and immediately died, despite his friend's opposition to the idea.

The young man, Valery Spidinorov, suffers from a rare genetic disease that ends with the death of the patient. He is tired of his current situation and his constant need for care for him because of his wheelchair mobility.

According to the Italian surgeon, the chances of success of the operation up to 90%, explaining that it requires the participation of 80 surgeons, at a cost of ten million US dollars.

Two surgeons from China confirmed in January last year that they had successfully carried out a monkey head transplant, and another South Korean team had other head transplant operations in mice.
