Ask Vietnamese about Hue and they’ll often remark that it’s a sad city. Hue is not as boring as some people say, and you can discover its romance and charming beauty to the fullest if knowing the city’s must-dos and sees.

There are tons of outstanding tombs, monuments, and pagodas in Hue. And one of the most unique tomb in Hue is Tomb of Khai Dinh.

Tomb of Khai Dinh, also known as Ung tomb is the tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh, the 12th King of Nguyen Dynasty. The architectural work owns a harmonious combination between the European modernity and the Vietnam classical characteristics.

Currently, compared to other mysterious tombs in Vietnam, Tomb of Khai Dinh has been relatively intact and owned a unique architecture

Khai Dinh Tomb when newly accomplished was compared as a colorful, magnificent and extremely showy cage. Yet, fine art and painting studies today must take their hat off before the architectural sculpture quintessence reaching sophistication in lines, and harmony in layout to build a magnificent tomb. This turns the tomb into a masterpiece stretching Vietnam history.
