Well let’s put it this way, every professional athlete whether it’s the NBA or NFL, they do this screening before they even TRYOUT for the team.. it’s also a very powerful tool to help reach your goals quicker and show any asymmetries in your body and over all movement.

What it consists of is 7 basic body movements and you are rated anywhere from 0-3 on each movement (a score of 0 will only apply if there is pain).

  1. Squat
  2. Hurdle step
  3. Lunge
  4. Shoulder mobility
  5. Active leg raise
  6. Trunk stability push-up
  7. Rotary stability

Hi @alexurso13

It's good to see someone promoting Functional Movement Screening.

If people new to training would take a FMS they could save themselves a lot of trouble later on when they start getting to more advanced forms training and heavier weights ect.

I give all my clients a FMS before I put any weight in their hands.

I love the work of Gray Cook , Craig Liebensen and Stuart McGill.
