I want to share this amazing story that I read today. I do not know who the author is but the story will help you to understand the true meaning of how to change the world.
One day a man is walking on the beach and he sees a young girl walking further down the beach. She is picking things up and throwing them into the water. As the man gets closer he sees she is throwing starfish into the ocean that washed ashore with the high tide.
"What are you doing, little girl," the man asked.
"I am putting the starfish back into the ocean so they do not die in the hot sun."
"It won't help anything," said the man, "there are thousands of miles of beach and the tides will keep pushing the starfish back to the shore. You can't change it, that is just the way of the world."
The little girl picked up another starfish and tossed it into the water. Then she looked at the man and said, "I just changed the world for that one."
Changing the world doesn't have to happen in grand gestures. If you can make it better for someone else then it is your responsibility to do that. We can all make a difference for somebody if we try.
