How a random stranger can cheer us up each day?

I was walking towards the metro station on one depressed day. As I passed through the mandatory security check after using my transport ticket, the security guard screened my body and my bag with security device. As he was doing it, he said in a friendly voice: "Iyi Gunler" (Turkish). That means " Have a good day". I was confused because it was the same moment he was screening me for any threatening object. I was an unreliable human for him that he needs to check as it is his duty but at the same time he wanted to wish a good day for me. My mood suddenly changed from depressed to optimistic after hearing his words. After feeling that he wanted me to feel good even though he has to do his job of not trusting me.

Another day in a supermarket. I was putting my grocery on the shelf near the cashier. She looked at all of the things and smiled at me and asked: "Why am I not buying that specific bread that I always buy? I was first shocked at her question. Then I told her that I have enough of that in my house that is why. She asked me again with a curious smile "Do you like that bread that much"? I said: "Yes, because we usually eat that kind of bread in Pakistan and its usually not available everywhere in Turkey". She was pleased to hear that and said "Happy to know that, have a good day".
I left the shop with an awe and surprise. I never thought she would notice that I am buying that bread most of the time. But she did. She was paying attention to one of his customer's grocery. It was a small gesture but It meant a lot to me. My mood was changed. What kind of people we meet everyday by chance? They are strangers but few nice words of care and attention by them are enough to cheer up our whole day. They are good signs of hope in a hopeless world. I think we need random good strangers around us each day as a reminder. It is the little care, few kind words and a smile from them that we all need.

Thank you for reading.
Sometimes, be that random stranger yourself.
Have a good day :)
