Progress On Our Projects!
We are still down nurses at work so the homestead projects are not getting done at lightning speed, but we are plodding away and making steady progress! The video is a combination of photos taken by me and fishy, the video are fishy's work as is the editing and such. Mostly, I did the grunt work so she said I got to make the post. I am smart enough not to argue with my wife... 😁
The fences are holding pretty well down below although the real test for the season begins in a few weeks. That is when the rancher with the bull will dump several hundred cattle onto the Mesa and then ignore phone calls and generally shirk responsibility. Good times... Oh well, last year it saved us having to get our girls inseminated!
The septic has been approved and a contractor is going to put it in for us. It is easier for me to go work for RN wages and pay someone else than to dig fast enough to justify digging it myself. It may be the end of summer, but we will have a little toilet of our very own soon, if that is not romantic I don't know what is! When the man came to do the test holes, he was kind enough to dig the trench from the wellhouse to the house, so I can get all those plumbing and electrical lines in and inspected pretty soon too.
All in all, we are well and happy and just hoping against hope that the world is making a change for the better. It is an incredible time to be alive, and dangerous in many ways. I hope all our friends are safe and well!!
Wow!....you guys had a outhouse? Now that's some wild, wild west stuff right there. I'd give you two up votes if I could. lol. Will that toilet be gold plated?
No, no, not that wild and woolly here! We have two adjoining properties, one has a house on it and we live there. The other is GETTING a house on it. There is a camp portapotty down there for emergency use, but we usually run up to the house when nature calls!
.....phew!, that sure preserved my thought experiments of living way out yonder west.
We can take some pics of the outhouses next time we go camping if it would help... lol!
Nah, I am all good. The portable potties they put in our parks is bad enough. lol.
I would have to agree. Sometimes it is better to hire someone to come in a do the dirty work. It is a headache when the neighbours don't look after their animals. We have a few of them too. I have been tempted to keep them when they come onto our property. I wouldn't ague with Fishy either! She is a preety strong woman!
It is good to see you post, every time. I hope things come together quickly and you can make you move with minimal aggravation! And yeah... she's is short but scrappy... lol!
Yesterday was really bad. People were held hostage at the airport. We haven't heard what has happened. As soon as an opportunity presents itself we will leave but with events happening now it may be a while. Thank you so much for your generous donation and Fishy too. Everything that we can raise will be used to find a way out, quickly.
Thinking of you and your family all the time, best of luck to you!
Thanks, @longsilver! It's knowing that people are praying and thinking about us that keeps us strong.
