Springtime garden growth
Our spring garden is off to a great start and all the rain we've been getting has given the veggies a boost.
We are growing onions, radishes, sugar snap peas, collard greens, carrots, cilantro, mustard greens, arugula, and just got some basil and dill in the ground.
Happy radishes
First harvest of spring
I love the spicy taste of mustard greens. We use them in salads or cook them with the radish tops and kale for a nutritious side dish.
Arugula is my all time favorite green. This is my first try with rocket arugula and so far it's growing great.
We also have a whole mess of plants that we sprouted from seed and are about to move into the garden patch as well.
Lots of tomatoes, peppers and herbs ready for transplanting. Lilly approves.
Taking a little rest after transplanting two long rows of onions.
While this is the busiest time of year for me, it's also my favorite. Growing food is so rewarding.
What's growing in your garden?
Just garlic right now. I just got my peas planted today. (I'm in new England and it's been very cold and wet.) Next week I hope to put in potatoes, mesclun/letuces, and kale. I'll have to wait a couple weeks and then put in onions and some other things.
That is certainly a pretty puppy! I'm a simple person, I see a dog and I upvote lol! I don't have much growing in my garden at the moment because it's such a late season. My family plans on planting tomatoes, cucumber, radishes, the usual.
Thanks so much! She sure is a sweetie and a good garden companion. She finally learned to stay off of the veggies lol
