RE: We Built Justin Rhodes' Chickshaw 2.0. How did it go?

That was a fantastic video. Well shot, edited, and the music was cool. The actual chickshaw is just great. So practical. About the thing about the roof edge, I guess that is some sort of rubber frame.
It is a blessing to be able to build things like those who have, to have the skills and the tools. Just a blast.
I have a question regarding the eggs: is it profitable? when you balance the cost of raising the hens, their food, etc and the cost of eggs in the market (I have no idea how much they cost), is it a good thing economically to produce your own eggs?

Thank you for the kind words. Eggs, as a "business" by themselves aren't really profitable. Having a few chickens and just selling your surplus basically just makes you a couple of dollars. But, if you add them to an already profitable product, it can work out well. For example, if adding your eggs to a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) system, they can pay off. Such as a pastured poultry CSA, selling chicken at ~$4/lb and eggs at ~$4/dozen, it can pay off. Hope that made sense. Thanks so much for commenting and watching!

Sure, it does. Thanks for the extra info.
I asked not so much in terms of the business aspect, but in terms of the family budget and the relation with market prices.
In venezuela the prices of items such as eggs or poultry went so high it was adviced to just raise your own chickens, but then the prices of the birds food went so high it would be cheaper to just buy them (chicken, eggs) from the market.
