Hazelnut Wood beads
In the spring, I was asked if we had any hazel nut trees nearby.
I laughed because I am living in a hazelnut tree bush! They are everywhere!

She approached me because she heard that they were great for helping with teething when worn as a necklace. (Like the amber ones people are wearing)
So, I made beads. I asked permission, honored the tree, and the land and laid tobacco.
I hand drilled each bead and cut them all by hand. Come spring, I would like to do this again.
I really want to learn more about this fabulous tree medicine.
Hazelnut wood is very rich in polyphenols and have antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
Other benefits of hazelnut wood may include:
Psoriasis or eczema : inflammation of the skin
Teething pain : caused from gum inflammation
Arthritis : joint inflammation
Heartburn and acid reflux-related complications : inflammation of the esophagus
Mouth ulcer : inflammation of the skin inside the mouth
I believe that everything in nature is useful to human..... Also I believe you be a great friend of me..... Thank you @earthmother
Everything has its purpose! I so agree!
Thank you my friend!
I just love the medicine that nature offers! This is great information. Thanks for taking time to do the research and the post!
Thank you for dropping by and your words of encouragement! I am so glad I can share. :)
Thanks For this expository post @earthmother
I never knew Hazelnut wood is very rich in these things. Though i haven't seen this in my area but the one that is rich like Hazelnut wood is Moringa
I LOVE moringa!!
I have a powder product that has it in it. Beautiful energy to it!
Nice. I was approached this winter with the exact same question. I harvested two stalks so that my friend could make a teething ring / necklace for their new born. Fascinating! Well done!
Its amazing!! :) i remember you saying you dry the leaves as well! So much medicine!
Yes, we dry the leaves and use it for a tea. The medicine being that it really relaxes, so it works well for anxiety and stress. Beautiful plant. We have a lot of it here too. Squirrels engage in agriculture to maintain the hazelnut bushes. Amazing. The nuts taste spectacular too if you can get them before the squirrels do. lol
Haha squirrels!!! I dry mine in the truck. So they can't get at them while I dry them!!
You dry squirrels in the truck? lol
Bahahaha!!! Hahaha!!! Hmmmmm
Now i am thinking!! Lol jerky? Lol
Very nice! I love the bracelet that you made. The raw slices of the tree are so beautiful. That color of green says nothing but healing to me. Nature is amazing and her gifts are plentiful. Thank you for sharing this knowledge with us.
That's a bracelet my friend made. With carnelian beads. :)
The green fades over time, and they say that you may have to replace them every few months depending on how hard they work for you.
It excites me that our medicines are in our own back yard!!
Thank you for sharing my excitement!!
I wish I had known about this when my kids were young, for the teething; and I had no idea of those other natural health benefits so thank you for sharing this knowledge!
I am hoping to plant at least one hazelnut bush at home this year, as the nuts have always been a favourite. :)
I know how you feel, anything to ease the pain of teething! I am looking forward to working with hazel nut this year. See what else she has to offer besides the nuts!! Lol
I'd never heard that about hazelnut wood - how cool! The bracelet turned out beautifully!
I hadn't either, but sure glad i did!!
So remarkable what mother nature provides!
Yep, I completely agree - she is awesome! 😊💚🌳
It would be amazing if it could h plan with mouth ulcers as I've just been blessed with another!
I would try it! I hope you heal soon!!
