Building a better mousetrap!

we made a simple mouse trap from a dowel, bucket, a couple zip ties, and a soda bottle. We put it in the feed house and it worked great! We just placed some boards like a ramp up to it for easy access and we got about 25 in a few days!

We do this with rats around the homestead but you have to put water or they will jump out. Also after a couple good nights they will not go near it again since they are smart enough to learn so we have to change it up in location and bait. I would pin it in place so it would not turn for the first couple nights allowing them to get comfortable with it and then unhook it so I would get a lot of them at once and the move it and rebait with something else. Ended up going to a pellet rifle with night vision scope though to clean out the rest of the large smart ones. Great post though these stairway to heave traps are one of the better options out there.

That is a lot of mice to deal with. Some people I know would put water in the bucket so they would drown. What do you do with the mice after?

I feed them to the chickens! I tried to record it but i didnt get any good footage lol.

Perfect, I bet the chickens love you :D
