Snake Bite Remedy if bitten- great for bug-out bags and homesteads

in #homesteading7 years ago

I use to live on 100 acres of the Ozarks, in very remote hardwood mountain land full of rattlesnakes and copperheads. I raised and home schooled three children there without electric or running water although eventually we did get solar power and put in a large lake for water. For 15 years the nearest neighbor or telephone pole was 4 miles down the dirt road. We had dogs and cats rattlesnake bit pretty often but never a person, thankfully.

It was the best I have ever lived although many people would say OMG ! I just smile.

Back to snakes, over those years I had copperheads come slithering in the living room right towards my sleeping child. I had rattlesnakes in the ceiling of the kitchen..oh that was fun getting that 6 ft snake out without the husband shooting a hole in the roof ! ha!

I didn't know rattlers climbed trees either until we saw 8 ft snakes hanging from trees. Yes way to many snakes.

We were told, back in the 1960's or some by gone year the forestry service decided the Buffalo River nation park system needed more snakes to balance out the natural way of things so they flew over the river dropping 100's of snakes out into the woods. Poisonous snakes no less and that was why there are so many snakes in the area.

I practice natural medicine still to this day and then I did a lot of research about snakes. I found the most helpful snake bite remedy I want to share with everybody who lives in snake country or visits the woods for hiking.

This really works. I have used it several times with remarkable results on animals. During my years on the fire dept and county search and rescue team I carried this one ingredient in my bug-out bag or backpack. I keep it in my prepper gear.

I have used it on spider bites, bee stings and tick bite that carry Lyme disease leaving the bulls-eye rash.

This simple healing paste and drink took the Lyme disease rash away within 24 hours after applying. The rash was there 10 days with nothing working until this remedy was tried.

You won't believe what it is but it works.

Look at the grocery store spice rack for Adolf's Meat Tenderizer the Original works best without any added spices. Yes I'm serious.

This common cooking ingredient contains papaya fruit extract which is well known to herbalist as having extracting properties that remove poison and toxic from the skin or body. You can get pure powdered Papaya at herb stores too, it works as well.

To use:

As soon as possible after a snake or bug bite..mix 1 tablespoon of Adolf's or papaya in 8 oz of water, stir and have the person who was bitten sip this or give it to the animal a little at a time every 10 minutes until gone. It should last about a hour.

Also at the same time...make a wet paste of the powdered Adolf's papaya mixed with a few drops of water. It should be thick and sticky.

Place this paste on the bite very thick and let it dry.

The paste will fall off in a few hours.

Reapply for at least 24 hours or until improvement is seen at the bite site.

Good Luck and Be Safe !

Great post.
I looked up this Adolfs meat tenderizer to see if it was something that was sold around here. I happened to notice it said it was made of salt, sugar, and PINEAPPLE extract. But the post says Papaya. Do you have a bottle handy to check the ingredients. Or maybe it's a type-o? Then I was also thinking sometomes companies will change their ingredients to something cheaper and hope you dont notice. I was just wondering what you know about the discrepancy, because it's a pretty serious matter, there really isn't much room for error.

Thanks for noticing ! I did mention to use the Original Adolf's without spices. The papaya is found in the Original Adolf's but not in the spiced version of the tenderizer. The ingredient from papaya is actually called "Papain" which is made from Papaya . Adolf's original that states papaya is hard to find which is why I mentioned that pure papaya is available at health food stores or herb shops. Yes companies do change ingredients often and it does make a difference which is why I mentioned the papaya is what works and to look for in Adolf's or to get the papaya powder. As for answering your question if I have a bottle of Adolf's to look at myself...I wrote the article from my own use and you don't believe me!
wow I guess I will just post flower pictures instead of offering help and knowledge to people who just want to point out I'm wrong.

Here some reading to back up my post...https://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/papain/ and http://www.enzymedevelopment.com/applications/tenderizer/

Calm down. I didnt think you didnt know what you were talking about, I just thought they may have changed it. It would be awful to be counting on this and it not be what you think it is.

Its the orignal, unseasoned, and it says PINEAPPLE.
If your lable is different, than maybe it was a typo.
I think it's more likely that it used to be papaya but now they've changed it to pineapple and hoped no one noticed.
Do whatever you wanna do. I've moved on.
