Lend a Helping Hand:

Lending a hand to someone that needs help is a move not very many take and the spreading of kindness is not something most are willing to do. There can be very rewarding gifts from putting a smile on someone’s face that does not find many reasons to have one. Volunteering your time can be a start to bettering the world. Help spread some smiles.

Helping others is the best way for children and adults to build/strengthen their morals. Being a volunteer teaches even toddlers about compassion, empathy, tolerance, gratitude, and responsibility. Lending out a hand can be a fun family activity that helps shape everyone into a better person. Small things can even make a difference to someone who does not have much or does not have someone to just simply be a friend. You can be the light of the world to someone by being there at a dark time in their life.

The greatest learning opportunities come from what people see others do. Not just children observe and learn adults do as well. Being a volunteer and showing care can help pass kindness along to many. It can be wonderful things observed that children carry with them through life and adults can have that observation to do as you and help someone. Teaching yourself and children to become and grow to be better people can really make a change for the good. There will be proper values and life lessons to carry on and pass along.

Volunteer at a nursing home, hospital, shelter, etc. all of these places can use a positive caring person to cheer people up and show there really are people out there that care. With children you can make cards for the elderly or sick patients in the local hospitals. Small children can help gather supplies to make activity boxes for patients in the hospital. You can have food drives, gather clothing and toys not used anymore to donate, deliver meals, befriend a disabled person, walk to fight disease, or do chores for a disabled or elder person. You can also share story time with children in a local hospital or a shelter for children you can help make a child laugh and feel loved today by just volunteering some of your time. These are just a few ways you can lend a hand.

People are not the only ones who need a kind heart around. Animals do as well and there are many ways to help them too. Volunteer at a local animal shelter, adopt a pet, and donate food or supplies. Animals need to be loved just as much.

The community is another place you can donate your time to. Picking up litter at the local parks makes it a better place for everyone to visit. You can plant flowers or trees to give an area a more beautiful appearance for all to enjoy. Helping your neighbors with yard work or shoveling snow when it is that time of year can be other ways to volunteer. It takes action to make a difference and make the world we live in a more wonderful place.

Volunteer a little time to make a big difference. Help bring smiles to faces that rarely get to wear them. Shape and help sustain yourself and children into better people. Teach others to lend a helping hand so kindness can begin to spread. Anyone can stumble into a dark hour so help make that change and be the light for someone. Be the reason they smile.
