A fresh new look
I could not be around for the last 3 days because there has been some work going on at home. Usually it's not the case, I do some how manage to make my blog, but then these last 3 days were hectic and everything was in a mess. The home that I am living in here in Muscat is a rented apartment and it's been 6 years living here in this home and there were some maintenance work required. Me and hubby were following up with the landlord since the past 3 months and then finally this week he decided to do the works of which painting the house was also one of the activity.
Over here normally after 5 years we can ask the landlord to do the painting of the home. Most of them do it by themselves, but some of them will only do if you ask them to, and my landlord falls in that category :-) Most of the work is completed and now there are just few things that are pending, which will be completed today. I have to continuously do the supervision, else these people will do the work in short-cut manner and go away.
Painting is a tedious job, because all the furniture has to be shifted and covered up, this process happens faster, the more tedious job is getting back everything in place once the work is done. Thank god it happened in this week because in the next 2 weeks is my New Year, the Zoroastrian New year and then after that in 10 days time is the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which I celebrate. I was hoping that the work gets completed before all of this, so that for the festivals my home is bright and shining with fresh new energy.
You can see how everything s covered up, and in this state there is no chance that I can do any work. And as they kept on completing room after room then I had a task to rearrange everything back in it's place.
All the big furniture movement was done by them, but then the organizing part I had to do it.
Almost everything is completed, today only the door polishing work is pending which will be completed, and this does not require me to do anything, so it's a lot of relief. It was quite a task but then my home is also looking new, so it's worth all the efforts.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

@nainaztengra, what a relatable post! Home maintenance is such a universal experience, and you've captured the whirlwind of activity perfectly. I especially appreciate you sharing the cultural context of home upkeep in Muscat and how it ties into your upcoming Zoroastrian New Year and Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. It's wonderful that you prioritized getting the painting done so your home can be filled with fresh, vibrant energy for the festivities. The "after" organizing is definitely the most challenging part, isn't it? Thanks for giving us a peek into your life. I'm sure many can relate. Wishing you a smooth finish to the door polishing and a joyful, relaxed celebration season!
