What separates a good goaltender from great goaltender?

Technique, knowledge, game experience, playing style, coaching, attitude and mindset all play a critical role. No matter your circumstances, your mind set is the most powerful skill you have. Mindset will define your capacity to face all challenges. If you possess the resources, mental skills, and the physical capabilities to be a GREAT goalie but not the right mind set you may never be GREAT!
Who you are?
What is your mindset?
Hoe do you control your potential?
Do you have a strong mindset or a weak mindset?
It is never too late to cultivate a new mindset only you can determine what your mindset is today.
To be a GREAT goaltender you must know and understand who you are.
A goaltenders mental strength and mental weakness must be identified, acknowledged and either strengthened or illuminated!

A goaltenders ultimate success will be determined by whether they have the fortitude to manage the immediate challenges they face game in and game out, a weak goaltender will inevitably fold up like a deck chair.
Goaltenders confidence, inner strength and core beliefs have to be unshakable, unwavering, and ultimately unbreakable.
Why are individuals attracted to this position? The mask, the pads, gloves, watching the goalie make the big save? Some people are drawn to the pressure and excitement.
Goaltending is not for everyone; it has unique qualifications that separate the weak from the strong.
The position is pivotal and will determine if a team can compete nightly, after all a team without a regular goalie is not a team.
The goaltender has to be a Leader; he/she has to have leadership qualities, an attitude that exudes confidence, dependability, and self-assuredness that permeates from the crease to the bench and to the crowd. A strong goalie has confidence, courage, commitment, control and the purpose to succeed. These elements are all critical ingredients that are consistent with a strong well-developed mindset!

How important is the goaltenders Mind Set you ask? I guess it all depends on if the goaltender is satisfied to be good or longs to be Great!!!
