Birth Day Celebration of Lord Krishna

The commemoration of the birth of Lord Krishna, believed to be the eighth birthday of Lord Vishnu, is celebrated as Janmashtami. The festival usually falls in Ashtami or on the eighth day of 'Krishna Paksha' - the dry lunar month of Badrapada (July / August). The celebration spreads a message of gratitude and demonstrates unity and faith. Krishna is regarded as a hero, friend, teacher, and protector.
