FOR GOOD MEASURE

"BUT there was a certain man called Simon, WHO PREVIOUSLY PRACTICED SORCERY IN THE CITY AND ASTONISHED THE PEOPLE OF SAMARIA, claiming that he was SOMEONE GREAT."
Acts 8:9 (NKJV)

Comment: When light is absent, darkness reigns. Simon the sorcerer held the people of Samaria spell bound with sorcery, because there was no light—the genuine power of God. However, when the light came, that is, when Philip came with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the whole place was changed. Even Simon the sorcerer bowed to the power of God, and he gave his life to Christ (Acts 8:13). This shows us that light has the power to dispel darkness. When light comes, darkness has no choice than to recede. The Bible says believers are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14); If I may ask you, Are you shining as a light where you are, or wherever you find yourself? If you are called a light and you are not shining, It is an aberration. Shining as a light does mean, living in line with the Word of God—the practice of the Bible. The Scripture says, you should let your light so shine before men that they might see your good work and praise your heavenly Father (Matthew 5:14-16). Peace.
