Some empty shelves up our way too, but most things are available. Not sure there was any pasta yesterday and some cans were sold out. The shops will do well from this for a while, but I would hope the supply chain can cope with demand.

That's the problem Steve. The supply chain is designed for 'just in time' operations not mass panic buying.
Stores don't stockpile goods these days.
So it's a perfect storm.

We shall see. Businesses will want to cash in without being seen to profiteer (if they care). Some may really struggle though. I see the airlines are demanding help as far fewer people will be travelling. They are all on minimal margins.
