The Diary Game: /18/06/25/ CELEBRATING THE DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD
Lovely greetings to you all, I trust we are doing amazingly good.
It is funny how we human take that risk of not knowing what a new day holds but we still wake up with the hope of going through what ever the day has in stock. Yes yesterday was really eventful for me and I am glad I didn't put up the usual me (not wanting to leave my room 😌)
I had my power bank charged the previous day at my usual spot and was so lazy to go get it that day so it happened I was left with no battery yesterday. However I didn't know I was going to be attending an event yesterday and of such wasn't going to be needing my phone that much hence my nonchalantness towards my phone.
When my colleague requested I attended the event with him at his primary place of assignment trust me I didn't think twice because I knew it was going to be entertaining and educating but I really felt the absence of my phone as i had to beg for my colleague's phone to capture the moment.
We got there quite early and i was begining to wonder if I'll be the one to start the event for them, i had given myself a time frame which I couldn't stick to because the event was entertaining. At last the event began with an opening prayer followed by introduction of dignitaries before a welcoming speech was given by the principal of the school.
The students took time to present varieties of interesting activities ranging from drama, different cultural displays, dance, talk show, poems and lot more.
The school choir wasn't left out as they blessed the audience with a lovely rendition, they sang so melodiously and I was baffled because I wasn't expecting that much from them.
While all this was going on, the guest were not allowed to sit without keeping their mouth busy. Drinks, water, garden egg and groundnut were served and I jumped on the garden egg because I'm trying to curtail my intake of soda.
The educating part of it had the young barrister who talked extensively on the topic "planning and budgeting for children's right" she was so clear that i was convinced everyone could take home a thing or two from what she said. The event went on till around some minutes after three, it lovely how I went there before opening prayer was said and waited till the closing prayer was said.
I stepped out of the hall feeling so happy that I didn't miss the event for any reason. I decided to take some shots with my colleagues and I don't know what really tickled my fancy that made me give that wide smile.
After the event my colleague and I finally went to go get my power bank and I forgot to go with the tally I was given, my fingers were crossed if I was going to be refused but it worked out for me and I got to power my phone. Close to the charging spot was a bar and we stopped by to say hello to the palmy drink and cow skin.
I got to the house and prepared dinner because I still had drugs to take, if it wasn't for it mybe i would have gone to bed wiith what I had already had within the day.
