Introduction

National or International Awareness Days are special dates commemorated to observe important global or local issues. These days are often used to raise awareness, promote action, and carry out community-driven campaigns. Many of these observances are established by national governments or international bodies like the United Nations (UN), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the World Health Organization (WHO), and others.

This year, we are focusing on a particular awareness day, and participants will follow the guide below to take part in the celebration and raise awareness.

World Radio Day : Design Your Mascot!

In celebration of World Radio Day on February 13th, we invite you to showcase your creativity by designing a unique mascot! This special contest is open to radio enthusiasts, artists, activists, and advocates who want to celebrate the power of radio in connecting communities, spreading knowledge, and giving a voice to the unheard.

Your mascot should symbolize communication, connectivity, knowledge, and inclusivity the core values of radio.

Once you’ve designed your mascot, break it down into four key parts and explain the significance of each. These parts should represent:

Waves of Communication: Symbolizing the transmission of ideas, culture, and information across borders.
Open Hands: Representing inclusivity and accessibility, as radio reaches people of all backgrounds and walks of life.
Light or Sound Source : Reflecting knowledge and enlightenment, as radio educates and informs millions worldwide.
Antenna or Microphone: A symbol of empowerment, giving a voice to those who need to be heard.

Let’s celebrate World Radio Day by expressing our creativity and raising awareness together!
