The Diary Game 3: June 1st, 2025.
As usual i would do my morning meditation first thing when i get up. After my meditation, i then had to do some house chores like keeping the kitchen clean by washing the dishes. After my chores, breakfast was a quick affair, as i made a cup of tea and drank it with bread. Its Sunday and so i had to be in church early to do sound setup, so i rushed through my shower and threw on my favorite black shirt and blue trousers, and left for church.
By 8:00am, i was out the door, on my bike going to church. The streets were busy with a few early risers as some were jogging, street vendors setting up, and fellow churchgoers walking to their places of worship.
I got to church by 8:15am, and apparently i was the first musician to be in church. I did all the needful by setting up the sound system and doing balance. Service started at 9:00am and the church was filled up. The worship set was powerful, uplifting songs that had the whole congregation singing along. I lost myself in the music, fingers moving almost allover the strings of the guitar.
Then halfway through the sermon, the lights flickered and everything was off. But we were prapared. Within seconds, we immediately started the standby generator and lights returned. The pastor laughed and said "The devil tried to stop up but we are back".
service continued without further interruption. By the time we closed with the final prayer, i was exhausted, the good kind of exhaustion that comes when you pour out your heart into something meaningful.
After church, i headed back home, the sun was high and the streets were livelier with families returning from church. I got home, my muscles ached from standing and playing the bass guitar for long. I scrolled through my phone, replied to some whatsapp messages and then had a short nap.
I got up by 3pm, feeling refreshed, and then i remember i hadn't eaten sine breakfast. I reheated some leftover rice that was in my fridge, ate while watching an episode of a random show on netflix.
I had plans to meet up with a friend of mine within the day. My friend and I have been trying to hang out for some time now, but our schedules never aligned. Finally we settled on this sunday. We had much to discuss and catch up and by 7pm we all departed and went home as we called it a day.
