Helping my friend, Enobong Okon to monitor his building project// 23rd June, 2025.
It was two weeks ago that I received a call from my friend, Enobong Okon, who base in Abuja. He had been working on a building project in Nsukara Offot here in Uyo where I reside, and the building is nearing completion. However, his busy schedule hadn't allowed him to be on-site as often as he would have liked.
"Please, I need a favour" he said, his voice filled with a mix of concern and trust. "I need someone to oversee the remaining work on the project. Can I count on you?" I didn't hesitate. As a friend, it was the least I could do. "of course, I'll take care of it" I assured him, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

The project is at a critical stage. The roofing had just been completed, and it is time to fix the protectors, doors, and gate. I know Enobong is particular about the quality of work, so I made a mental note to be thorough in my oversight.
I spent throughout yesterday, June 23rd at the welder's workshop to monitor the welding and fabrication process of the window protectors, doors, and iron gate. I took my time to inspect each piece, ensuring that they met Enobong's standards.

As the day went by, I sent Enobong pictorial feedback of the work in progress. His responses were immediate, filled with gratitude and encouragement. "Thanks for taking this off my plate" he said in one of his messages. "I can already see the quality of work. You're doing a great job!" His words motivated me to do even better. I know that my friend counted on me to deliver a project that would make him proud before he called me for the task. And I am determined to do just that. My job for him had just began, I'll monitor the project to the full completion.
