The Diary Game: A Visit From Masquerade And A Rainy Day 10-09-2025

Hello ladies and gentlemen of Steemit, it's your friend @joychi102. First off, how are you doing? I hope all is well? I am very good, and today, I am sharing a diary that will inspire you to keep going.

It was drizzling when I got to the shop, though the weather started off with a shining sun, but all of a sudden, it became really cloudy, and it began to drizzle, so that was why I hurried to the shop. While I was still struggling to get my things out, this masquerade came around to greet me at the shop, so I gave him the little change I had with me then, and he appreciated it and left.

I was wondering how he would cope with that kind of costume on him with this rain. I wouldn't let my son do this because it's somehow awkward. I understand it's tradition, but this feels like a punishment looking from this other end.

While I was still trying to bring things out of the shop, the rain began to pour heavily. I was even scared that I would have sales today, looking at how the rain was pouring. I couldn't remove some things from the store, so I allowed them to be.

The time range I gave for this rain was like an hour or so, but the rain ended up pouring for 5 straight hours, and when people couldn't stay back again at home, they began to come out with their umbrellas so they could go to their different endeavors of the day. This is the kind of spirit I have always had; nothing can stop me if I want to do something, and I want my kids to also imbibe this nature.

I couldn't even sell a single thing, not even something as little as a sweet, so I just put my head down and began to sleep because the weather was just soothing for sleep. While still halfway into my sleep, a customer came and bought some things from me. I was happy for the sales because it actually covered up the entire sales I had the previous day. When I stepped out to see how far the rain had gone, I saw erosion at the frontage of my shop. This is why I have been telling my landlord to make a little gutter, and till now he hasn't. Now look what I have to face.

When it was 6pm, I packed my things and went back home. My kids were waiting for me to come back home. I know they missed me because I told them not to come to the shop because of the heavy rain. My landlord's goats were outside; I was the one that told him to come and untie them and take them inside. He did not know that the goats were still outside because these days I have seen him being moody. I guess something is bothering him; I will find out one of these days.

I went inside and immediately changed up, and then my daughter brought this rice for me to eat because I was very hungry. I only ate a banana and sipped garri during the day, so I needed to take something like this for dinner, or else I might wake up at midnight to start looking for what to eat.

I couldn't stay long at the dining table, so after eating, I washed the clothes I came back with because they were really wet, and if left like that, they might result in something else. After washing, I bathed with hot water before going to be with my kids, and from here, it will be a goodbye over here. Thank you so much for your time.
