Asalamalaikum @everyone and welcome to my blog. Here is a contest i came accross i said i will try my best out and hence join in celebrating the International Day Of Zero Tolerance For Female Genital Mutilation.

To begin with, Female Genital Mutilation refers to the destruction of the female genital or vulvar for non medical related purpose.

1 Clitoridectomy. This is the partial or total removal of the clitoral glans (the external and visible part of the clitoris, which is a sensitive part of the female genitals), and/or the prepuce/clitoral hood (the fold of skin surrounding the clitoral glans).

2 Excision. This referes to the partial or total removal of the clitoral glans and the labia minora (the inner folds of the vulva), with or without removal of the labia majora (the outer folds of skin of the vulva).

3 Infibulation. This is the narrowing of the vaginal opening through the creation of a covering seal. The seal is formed by cutting and repositioning the labia minora, or labia majora, sometimes through stitching, with or without removal of the clitoral prepuce/clitoral hood and glans.

4 Other. This includes all other harmful procedures to the female genitalia for non-medical purposes, e.g., pricking, piercing, incising, scraping and cauterizing the genital area.

However, we do have effects of Female Genital Mutilation on girl child.

To begin with, the effects can be psychological, physical economical which may bring in problems during her childhood.

At some point, the effect pf cutting of the female girl leads to her early death.

Furthermore, sexually, girls that had gone through Female Genital Mutilation type 3 experiences pain during intercourse and however, they have to be cut thru again inorder to have smooth sex.

In addition, in terms of child birth and pregnancy, girls who passed through female genital mutilation type 3 as percentaged 70% are exposed to suffer from hemorrhage during delivery.

Conclusively, Female Genital Mutilation is a very bad practice and have alot of negative impacts to our fellow women.

Lets stand together and fight agains FGM, we say NO to FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION.
