√ Cameroon joined her Counterparts of the Commonwealth of Nations to celebrate the Commonwealth Day on 10th March 2025, under the theme: "Together We Thrive". This celebration of 10th March 2025 marked 30th years of Cameroon's membership in the Commonwealth. Cameroon celebrated the Day as a member of a family of 56 Countries united by shared values of peace, democracy and sustainable development.
✓ Very two Important activities marked the celebration of the Commonwealth Day in Cameroon that took place at the National Museum of Cameroon. These were an open day and round table conference on the theme; "Sustainability of our CUltural Heritage As A Commonwealth Member State Amidst The Stakes Of Globalization"
√ To mark the event, activities were officially launched with a flag Hoisting ceremony, led by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth.
√ And to demonstrate the importance of the event, a week-long activities including event across the Country such as workshops for liaison officers, a round table on preserving Cameroon's Cultural heritage, and a mini-trade fair.
√ Selected young Cameroonians got the opportunity to "head" diplomatic missions of Commonwealth member Countries in Yaounde, participating in meetings and diplomatic engagements
√ The week-long activities brought stakeholders to reflect on the Commonwealth progress in various development sectors in Cameroon.
√ This celebration also focused on shared values and principles that unite the 56 member countries, and emphasized on peace, democracy and sustainable development.
° It should be noted here that the Commonwealth Charterexpresses the commitment of member countries to the development of free and democratic Societies and the promotion of peace and Prosperity to improve the lives of all Commonwealth citizens.
