Chicken pie adventure

Good evening dear STEEMIT members, I bring you greetings from around the globe. I'm here to share with you how I spent my day

I woke up at 5:30 am and prayed then went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the kids and lunch( which I packed In our lunch boxes). All set and I dropped them at school and headed to a facility where I volunteer. During work my mind just thought of eating chicken pie and that was how I started thinking of how to go about it

I decided to go to the market to buy chicken breast, flour and carrots since I had other ingredients at home. I got home and tried cutting the chicken breast and boom, I got a deep knife cut on my finger and I bled so much. Had to suspend what I was doing and ran to my husband for help. Quickly got me tissue paper to apply pressure on the site, got spirit to clean it, ohh I was so scared of the pain and tried cleaning the area myself and he helped me dressed the injury then I went back to my kitchen and just washed the chicken and put the big chunks inside the pot and cooked, then shredded. Also peeled Irish potato and carrots, diced, same with onions and I prepared the fillings.

At about 4:50pm, we went to church for mid-week fellowship and on getting home around 7pm there wasn't light and my oven uses electricity. I was a bit tensed and thinking of an alternative dinner but alas I improvised.

Brought out my very big pot and added salt inside then put a small bowl and inserted the cover of a smaller pot and covered and as it was generating heat I proceeded to mix my dough.

The added the fillings and sealed, poked with a fork and coated with egg
And placed them in the 'improvised oven'

Used foiled paper to seal the pot and covered it for about 45 minutes and voila, the pies were ready, the kids were happy as I served them

This made me very happy that despite the challenges I was able to pull this through and this applies to our everyday life.
Whenever we are faced with challenges, as long as our minds are willing then there's a way out.
And of course I did some small mixing to get a sweet drink to take a long side (black currant, sprite and freshly squeezed lemon)

And together as a family we ate our dinner and the kids slept off at the spot. Lol. Hubby was really thankful and it gladdens my heart that he sees and appreciates the efforts I put in ensuring we have good meals every time.
This was how I spent my day and thank you for reading my diary
