The Last Woman Standing in the Family is gone at 104 years old.

Greetings @everyone and it is a dark day for my family as we lost the last woman of my great grand father who was the fon of my village Buchi, in Santa Sub Division of the North West region of Cameroon.

My great grand father had several wives which according to them as we were told, tradition demands that as a chief, you were supposed to get married to as many wives as possible so that they will reproduce and increase the family in numbers. According to them polygamy was a good way to proof the strength of a man.

I do not know all the wives of my late great grand father because before we were born, some were dead already and I only met 8 of them alive.

Over the years, all of the remaining 8 wives of my great grand father died and the last woman standing was this Mama Deborah Menyi at the age of 104 years.

She was a mother for not only her born children but mother of all children as she was fondly called. Everyone in the family loved her because of her indiscriminate actions towards everyone in the family. She never discriminates and always share cheerfully to everyone around her.

I received the news this day and though we will missed her but I think we should rather celebrate the grace upon her life. She has been strong and healthy throughout until recently when she started complaining of body pains. She was immediately rush to the hospital for medical attention.

Unfortunately, she could not withstand the pain and gave up the ghost at 104 years old. We salute her bravery and her strength to fight till her last breathe. She has proven to us beyond doubts that life is not too complicated to live and clock 100 years.

We have lost one of the archives of the family because she was in place to recount some of the stories of the past to us. We used her as our library to gain knowledge of the past especially our royal family history.
