The Diary Game [26/01/2025] // Family Thanksgiving Day in the Village.

Steem greetings @everyone from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog as I share my lifestyle content with you. It is a routine every January of the year that we as a family give a Thanksgiving seed, thanking God for all the marvellous things Je has done for the family.

It is like a covenant we have made with God and we believe that once you enter a covenant with God, there are some praying points that you do not need to pray about them but you see everything moving smoothly with no obstacles. For the past 4 years now, that is the covenant my family has entered with God.

We had to leave town early in the morning to the village to attend the Thanksgiving church service. My elder sister had agreed we fuel her car and use it. We agreed to leave town by 7:00 AM so that we arrive by 9:00 AM to attend the church service.

Leaving the house to the Village

Since we live in different neighbourhoods, we agreed that I stand at a particular spot so that it would be easier for her to pick me up. I left the house early enough to pass by a market to buy some stuff for my dad. My sister did not keep to time as I sat on the roadside for almost an hour before she came and we headed to the village.

Road to the village

The road was good and not like before when the road was under construction. We use to take about 3hours from town to the village but today because the roads were good, we took about 1 hour 15minutes. We arrived at our family compound when my mom and dad had already gone to church. We quickly dressed and joined our parents in church.

We arrived in the church late when the preaching was almost over. We were ushered to our seats and were later on called up to go outside and dance in with our Thanksgiving seed. The congregation later came up to support us with the Thanksgiving.

After the church service, we moved back home, to eat and drink while chatting. Some of our aunties and uncles came in and spiced up the day with some funny dance moves.

We had to leave the village early enough because of the insecurity in town. While returning back to town, we stopped at the road to buy food items because the prices were cheaper as compared to the prices in town. I bought potatoes, avocados, carrots, green beans, green spices and cabbage.

When I arrived home, I was so exhausted but I had to conclude curation for the day with the SC05 account. While watching the English Premiere League game between Aston Villa Vs Westham and Manchester United Vs Fulham.

I had no particular team I was supporting but I just had to follow the games while doing my other house chores. It was indeed a successful day as the Thanksgiving ceremony went well as planned. Until my next diary session, it is goodnight from my end.

I enjoyed reading this. It's more like a family reunion. We have a similar tradition in my family too where everyone comes home for new year day celebrations.

I cannot say it was a family reunion because not everyone was present. It was a Thanksgiving service in the church where my family gave material items to the church where my parents' fellowship. Its our own way of thanking God for His goodness upon our lives and we have been doing this for the past 4 years now.

Ok Ma'am if you say so. That's lovely.
