Love for What I Do : Teaching

Greetings, beautiful members of Steem Venezuela, it's good to be here. I want to appreciate @wilmer1988 for this interesting contest on 'Love for what I do'. There are things people do for a living but they do it strictly for money with no love or passion for it, but the best way to live and be fulfilled is doing what you love and loving it. It makes you look forward to waking up and doing it. So today, I'll be talking on love for what I do.

Teaching is a profession or a job of impacting knowledge of padding down knowledge to others. Though it wasn't my course of study in school, but I fell in love with it after graduating from school and not finding a job. My love for reaching developed due to my love and passion for reading novels and writing. I found our that I could easily teach on a very interesting way and I was always feeling happy and doing it with passion. So the thing I started small due to lack of job developed to full passion.

Due to my love for teaching, I have been in this teaching field for about 10 years now. These 10 years has been filled with lots of achievements, pains, errors, etc.

In every thing people do in life, there are challenges and achievements even though some things are done with passion. I have faced lots of achievements in this teaching field.

• My first challenge in the teaching field is the challenge of being looked down on as a teacher. Even though teachers are really treasured in some countries, in my country, teachers are looked down on especially by rich folks. A pare t can walk into the school and slap a teacher and nothing is done about it. The students insult the teacher and tell him or her that his or her parents can afford the teacher's salary and that the teacher is poor. If a teacher is doing fee drive and send the child home, the parent will get to the school and insult the teacher. There are so many challenges.

• My next challenge is the challenge of salary and bad treatments by owners of school. This is very rampant amongst school owners. Teachers are treated poorly and sacked everytime when they demand their rights. A teacher works at least 10 months in a year and mostly 12 months but the school owners usually try to keep back the salary. Teachers are owed so much and when they get tired, they leave and the same thing happens over and over again.

Just like there are challenges, there have been achievements in my years in the teaching field. When I look at my first set of students, where they started from and where they are now, I feel some form of achievements. The very first set of students I taught when I started newly are currently in their 4th year studying different professional courses in the university. My achievements come in various ways.

• A child who couldn't read being able to read.

• Giving a child real values, not just in education, but morally, spiritually and otherwise.

• Watching them grow, learn and then graduate and moving to higher heights.

My teaching job is filled with fun and sad moments. But I think the fun moments is more. First, a teacher is the parent of the child at that moment the child is in school. So I take the students as my children. A teacher should also be the student's friend SI the student can relate well and open up to the teacher when things go wrong, abd I try to be their friend. Though there are times one must be very hard on them so that they don't take the teacher for granted. We play, laugh, quarrel, make up and face things together. Despite the hurdles and challenges, passion is the driving force. I am not where I am due to the challenges in the teaching field, but nevertheless, I am still pushing. I believe whatever one does, the best comes out when there is passion applied.
