Hey friends. Greetings to you all. So this contest I'm participating in is organised by @inspiracion and it caught my attention and I decided to give it a try.

I've actually thought of the commenting feature on steemit, how my friends comment on my post and how they reply to my comment. Sometimes, I learn a whole new thing from their comments and replies while other times it's more of a repetition or an affirmation of what I wrote, either ways, commenting is a really important feature, it helps newcomers like me and even old ones to be assured that their write-ups are wholesome and that there are real people reading their blogs and it's also nice to know that your writeup is encouraging and helpful to your readers.

What do you think is necessary to do in order to comment? Will it be necessary to read first or not?

In order to comment, I think it is necessary to read what has been written first, after all the writer wrote with the reader in mind😊
Reading what has been written will help one to gain more insight into the writer's life. It will also answer questions like: what really happened? How does the writeup relate to the topic? Are there any lessons learned? Is it best to offer advice? and from there, one can know the best comment to give.

Is commenting just repeating things that have already been written? Or is it referring to something else? What do you think about this?

Well, I feel commenting takes different forms. It can serve as an avenue to affirm what has been said because a reader is in agreement, it can also serve as an avenue to disagree with what has been written (in a respectful way) if the writeup doesn't sit well with the reader or the reader sees the blog from another angle that appears more better or reasonable.

A comment can also refer to something else aside from what had been written, but still within the topic given. Most times, when commenting, I tend to affirm what has been written or add a few more information that relates to the topic and can be of help to fellow readers.

What should a comment contain for it to be attractive, interesting, or to make you want to go see what that person writes?

I would love to see what a person writes if the comment has some extra details. A comment should contain interesting or catchy lines for readers, it shouldn't just be the regular “I enjoyed your blog.. welldone”...😅 There should be that extra gist, a short funny sentence or fact that actually conveys the topic and helps readers gain more knowledge on what has been written.

How many comments did you make this week? Did you get a response? Yes, no, and why?

I've made over ten comments this week and I know I should do better in the wordings and composition of my comments too. I also got some positive responses and affirmations in my blog which made me happy and eager to convey more knowledge.
