Yesterday, my son suddenly came back with a small tooth and said to me, "Mom, my tooth fell out." I was a bit surprised. It seemed that the last time he lost a tooth was over a year ago, and I had almost forgotten that he still had teeth to change.
I then asked him, "When did it fall out?" He told me that it fell out in the car on the way home from school. A week ago, he had already told me, "Mom, my tooth is loose. It seems like I'm going to change my tooth." I checked the looseness and found that there was no new tooth growing out from the side near this tooth. So there was no need to rush to pull it out immediately, and there was no need to go to the hospital either. Then I said to him, "It's okay. Let it wiggle. In a few days, it will get looser and fall out by itself." He replied, "Okay."
We had gone to the hospital to get his teeth pulled out with anesthesia two or three times before. Those two or three times were because the new teeth had already grown out a little from the side gum, while the old teeth were still firmly in place, not moving at all. This was a bit worrying. How can I describe the situation of those teeth? It was a bit like double - row shark teeth. At that time, after observing for a few days, we found that the new teeth were growing more and more, while the old teeth didn't move at all. So we took him to the hospital to get the teeth pulled out with anesthesia.
I always remember that he was still very young at that time, around five years old. When getting the anesthesia for tooth extraction, he was extremely scared. Before the doctor's anesthesia needle even touched the flesh, his eyes were already filled with tears, and he started crying loudly. Later, we comforted him for a long time, and then he agreed to let the doctor give the anesthesia. In fact, the doctor was very fast. Less than half a minute after the anesthesia, the tooth was pulled out with a pair of pliers. But I knew that although there was anesthesia, it probably still hurt a bit.
After that, he was particularly afraid of going to the hospital for tooth extraction. Every time he found that the new teeth didn't push out and the old teeth were loose, he would feel relieved and say, "Ah, finally I don't have to go to the hospital. I can just wait for it to fall out by itself." I listened beside him and secretly laughed.
Yesterday, as soon as he came back, he rummaged through boxes and chests. He took the tooth that had fallen out and put it into a small wooden box for collecting teeth that he bought in kindergarten before. The small wooden box was in the shape of a baby and was very cute.
There were already many teeth in that box. Excluding the three teeth that were directly thrown into the trash can by the doctor when we went to the hospital for tooth extraction, there were still several teeth that were not collected. Basically, for all the teeth that fell out at home or at school, he would wrap them in a small piece of toilet paper and bring them home, and put them into the box as if they were precious treasures.
Looking at the way he carefully put his tooth into the box, I found it very funny. This little kid is really so interesting!
