Our Downvote Policy - "Aggressively downvoting posts is not a solution"

in STEEM WATCHER2 years ago

Greetings!

Our Downvote Policy

An announcement has already been made that we are going to work as an anti-abuse team. But many people do not understand properly how our downvote policy will be. First of all, we are here to build up friendly relations and keep this platform very clean. We do not like to spread hate in any way. Our intention is not to show our power or become an arbitrary ruler and downvote everyone. Our main task is to guide the users on the right path by showing them their mistakes. Downvotes will be used at the extreme stage, before this there will be many stages and they will be tried to understand the right thing. We always welcome those who will understand and do the right thing.

Our work policy is to first make the offender aware of his mistake and provide guidelines. If he still doesn't correct himself and continues the abusive activities then we will issue another warning. If the abuser continues to do the same, a downvote may be given as punishment. Although we dislike downvoting, in this case we will be forced to maintain the environment of the platform.

We have the ability to give big downvotes but we are not willing to show it for trivial reasons. Because our main goal is to bring all the abusers to the right path. Many people do different types of abuse without understanding steemit rules. If a user does not correct even after giving two or three warnings, then he deserves to be downvoted. Because then there will be no alternative to bring him the right way. Because then there will be no other way to bring him on the right path. It's an open platform, but it's our responsibility to maintain the proper environment of this platform, hope everyone understands our purpose.

***Now let's discuss what activities we consider as ABUSE.***

Plagiarism:

  • If you present someone else's work or ideas as your own, without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement, we will consider it as abuse.

Copyright Infringement

  • If you download an image under copyright protection and use it in your own post, we will consider it as abuse.

Spamming:

  • Repeated time unwanted activities and sharing of valueless content will be considered as abuse.

Identity Theft

  • When someone uses another person's personal identifying information without their permission, will consider it as abuse.

Reward farming communities:

  • If any person or group opens a community to conduct reward farming or other prohibited activities, it will be considered community reward farming abuse.

Scamming or, any Financial fraud on Steemit:

  • Attempting any kind of financial scam or hacking related activities by using any kind of phishing link or any other method will be considered as abuse.

Fake Crypto ICO, IPO or, any Scam Coin Campaign:

  • If someone tries to achieve their malicious purpose by involving users in any kind of fake Crypto ICO, IPO or, any Scam Coin Campaign, then it will be considered as abuse.

Also earning rewards by sharing valueless content is a kind of rewards abuse. We always advise users to write more than 100 words.

We will work on these issues for now. Even after that, if we find any kind of new abuse, then we will start working on that too. And we request all users of this platform, if you find any kind of abuse, report it directly to our team. The greatest results come from the combined efforts of all. We expect everyone's overall cooperation and friendly behavior,
Because friendly behavior will encourage us more in this noble work. Remember we are not enemies.

We skip steemit investor's micro posts.

When a user abuses, he has a minus contribution to this platform. That means he is harmful for this platform. But an investor who has already added a lot of value to the platform through his investment, his contribution is positive.

Thank you. I feel this is a worthwhile initiative. I have one suggestion though. For visibilitys sake, it might be an idea to also give out occasional upvotes (doesnt need to be 100%), to good posts, which adhere to your standards.

RME, Thank You for sharing Your insights...

We eagerly want to remove fake IPOs , ICOs and scam coins campaigns as the innocent users are being targeted by these fake IDs and just because of these fake links many a times newbies have to suffer a lot.

For removing all these above mentioned abuse we all need to come together to make this platform a crime free place and I would like to thank the team for coming up with these ideas.

Regards
@monz122

If we can convince someone, there will be no need for downvote. And for those who don't want to understand, there will definitely be downvotes, thanks a lot Dada.

Thank You for sharing...

I have literally bought hundreds of thousands of steem in the last 12 months and have been an investor here for many years. You need to speak with @symbionts as he continues to aggressively downvote me every single day no matter the post length or what the post is about.

Thank You for sharing...

Are you paying attention to this?

Hopefully the downvote policy is now clear to everyone. Many people had questions about this. All questions are answered in this post.

Thank you very much brother for presenting the matter in a more beautiful way.

We welcome your work. But I know surely one day you can clear steemit successfully. But I respect your thoughts. Because downloading is not the solution to the problem you wrote here. The abuser must be brought out of the pit. Very nice activity and kudos to you.

Since this is an initiative, I think that the work we are going forward with is certainly good. Because these steps are important to keep a platform transparent and abuse free. I think everyone should understand the information that you have given and think about it. Because since we are thinking about the future, these thoughts must be given importance in improving this platform.

Dada you explained very well. Actually, downvoting is never going to solve anything. So the steem watcher team is always telling them to stop abusing, those who are abusing.Because it is our responsibility to keep this platform clean.I hope this decision will be very beneficial for all of us. Because we are trying to explain nicely to those who are misusing this platform. Still if they don't correct their mistakes, strict action is needed for the good of this platform.

This is nice so therefore if a post is Less than 100 it is also an abuse?

You can post less than 100 words on a social media platform. When this kind of content takes too many rewards, it is reward abuse.

If that's is the case then it should just be banned and rejected because on a platform like Steemit where rewards are distributed in a Decentralized manner, the author don't control the amount of rewards he or she gets, so therefore if the post eventually get lots much support the shouldn't be blamed.

From the very beginning I don't support post less than 300.

It is not the user's fault if a user posts a small post and gets a lot of rewards. But this is not normal. In most cases, votes are bought.

Ok
Now I get where you are driving to, that's right the encourage vote buying which is improper.

I am also want to know!.
(Maybe not)?
