Visiting DC Park's Flower Fest...

DC Park (District Commissioner Park)
A visionary District Commissioner of Sitakunda district took the initiative to transform abandoned land and open spaces into a recreational center for people. Previously, this place was known as "Shuktara" named after a restaurant, and its beauty was not comparable to what it is today.
In 2022, based on the demands of tourists, a decision was made to develop it as an entertainment park. The most effective initiative was to select it as the venue for the Chittagong Flower Fest. Since then, the flower fest has been organized here every winter season.

Hello friends, I hope you are all well. The number of people who dislike flowers is very small. To mesmerize people with hundreds of varieties of flowers, a flower festival was organized at DC Park near Faujdarhat in Chittagong. Tourists and special-interest visitors from far and wide, including other districts participated in this event.
The festival started on January 1st and ended in mid-February, depending on the longevity of the flowers' freshness. I was fortunate enough to attend this festival at the right time and enjoy the fragrance and beauty of various flowers. I am sharing some pictures of the flower arrangements below.

Now, let's talk about ticket pricing. This was quite surprising. The entry fee was 50 taka per person, which is 150% higher than the previous year. Children under five years old do not require tickets. The park is open from 9 am to 8 pm. During the afternoon, there was a huge crowd of tourists.
Ticket | Price STEEM | Price USD |
---|---|---|
1* Person | 2.5 STEEM | 0.41 USD |
Day | Opening Time | Closing Time |
---|---|---|
(Mon-Sun) | 9:00 A.M | 8.00 P.M |
Throughout the festival, the entire area of the park was decorated magnificently with flowers. Various shapes, such as guitars, bird dolls, large tubs, etc., were all decorated with flowers. Although the place is quite large, it felt very small to flower lovers, as every corner was filled with tourists.

Nowadays, everyone is busy taking pictures rather than exploring the beauty of a place. Pictures are necessary, of course, as we want to keep the memories of a visit. However, I feel that taking pictures at every step does not allow one to truly enjoy a place. Anyway, I also took pictures as needed while wandering around.

So much about the flower festival, now let's talk about the other aspects of the park. For two months of the year, the park is decorated differently for the flower festival, but at other times, the scene is quite different. In terms of entertainment, there are not many rides like other parks. I saw a train, swings and boat rides in the lake.
Children especially enjoyed these rides and there is a small lake in the middle of the park where tourists enjoyed boat rides. Separate fees are mandatory for each ride. These rides are temporarily built only for the flower festival and are not available at other times.

Anyway, that was about the flower festival and DC Park. You can come here from Chittagong city by any private or public transportation. The flowers are gone now but to visit the other aspects of the park, come today with your family and friends. I am adding the map location below for your convenience.

Thank you all, happy traveling.
Hello traveler! 👋🏼 @ripon0630
Thanks for sharing your travel post in the TS Community. Your post reminded me of the Canberra Flower Festival, the Floriade where a single flower Tulip is the theme. It's celebrated for one month and perhaps the most visited show in the world.
