My journey to Baker's bend - Nonpareil estate, Balangoda, Sri Lanka

Yesterday, I went to visit Baker's bend in Nonpareil estate which is located in Belihul Oya, Rathnapura district in #srilanka. It is situated nearly 12 km from Belihul Oya town and 5000 feet elevation above the sea level. Nonpareil estate is well-known for its breathtaking locations and views and Baker's bend is one of the most iconic locations which has gained the tourist attraction..

Baker's bend has a unique attraction because of its sharp horse shoe shaped curve and beautiful scenery with a panoramic view of mountains.It is one of most famous locations for photographs because of the marvelous views of Lover's peak, Balathuduwa and Gommolikanda mountain ranges, and also reservoirs of Samanalawewa and Udawalawa..

The best way to access Baker's bend is through the Nonpareil estate road from Belihul Oya which is connected to the Badulla-Colombo road. I traveled by bike since it's difficult to access the top because of the worn-out road. On the way there are sharp bends which makes other vehicles difficult..

It took me more than 1 hour to reach the top and it was a tedious but enjoyable journey.On the way, I passed Nonpareil estate falls which is originated from the Horton plains.It cascades down in several segments which attracts the eyes of the lovers of nature.This Nonpareil estate falls later connects to the Hirikatu Oya and Belihul Oya at the bottom..

Finally, I was able to reach the Baker's bend. I was a wonderful experience and I was astonished by the amazing view.The views of the mountain had a great impact on me because of its greenery. The sunlight passing through the clouds and falling on to the mountains made a magnificent view.Also, the views of the reservoirs added a great scenery to the landscape..
