The First Day of Our Rhodes Trip - Sea and Culinary Stops

Hello everyone. I continue to share the memories and photos from our Rhodes trip with you. First we decided to go to the beach. The sea here is beautiful and the beach is simply amazing.

The Aegean Sea is very turbulent and exciting and the main reason for that is of course, the wind. We could clearly see the winds here.

Most people preferred just lying down and didn't enter the water. But the water temperature was really pleasant. The Aegean Sea is home to many islands and archipelagos, including the most famous ones like Crete, Rhodes and Kos.I totally understood why people weren't swimming, as there were big waves. It was really amazing.

After the beach our next goal was to find a place to eat. We were looking for a place that was quite popular. Based on my experience, the food is always delicious in places where people sit. In fact if locals are also sitting there, the place is usually really great. After a while we found a lovely place. We decided to eat here. We looked at the menu and ordered carbonara pasta, bacon and moussaka. The food was tasty though the carbonara was slightly overcooked. After the meal we stopped by a nearby ice cream shop and got some ice cream.

Next we went to a market because we realized that there are no regular supermarkets like those in Europe here. For example, there’s Lidl, which is a food market. First we entered an alcohol bar. Everything here is related to alcohol. The prices were reasonable. We considered buying alcoholic drinks to take home from Greece, but we didn't do it because we only drink rum. At best, we drink rum once every three months. Therefore, it didn’t make much sense. We wandered around the market for a while and checked the food prices.

The next day we woke up early. We had breakfast at our hotel and set off.

We arrived at Paleraki. This is actually one of the most sought-after places on Rhodes. There are many hotels in this area. In general the region is very popular. People who come to Rhodes, whether they want to or not, choose to stay here. We also came for a short visit. We sat here for a few hours and then moved on to other places. Still Rhodes is a small island, but there are many places to visit.

So we sunbathed and swam for a few hours, soaked in the sea and then moved on. The water here is not the same as the coast and sea we visited the previous day. The water is very clear and transparent. When you enter, you immediately feel the depth. I mean after walking a few meters, the water reaches your waist. It’s not deep at all. It’s the same sea, but there's a two-hour distance difference. It’s very suitable for swimming. Despite being in August the water was colder than we expected. Cold, but beautiful.

From here we went to another cove nearby. After swimming for a bit, we went to a restaurant for lunch. They had all kinds of food: Thai, Chinese, Italian, French. This time, we ordered soup for our daughter and pork, pita and moussaka for ourselves.

After the meal we went back to our hotel and rested a bit. In the evening, we took a walk in the streets. There were many Asian and Greek cuisine restaurants. The streets with massage parlors, cafes and bars were very lively.

The contrast between the different beaches and the views you described is fascinating – the power of the Aegean waves on one side and the calm transparency of the water in other bays. 🏖️💙 The mix of cuisines and the liveliness of the streets in the evening also add a vibrant touch to your adventure. 🌟🌍

Thank you for taking us with you through these beautiful photos and stories! We can't wait to discover other stops on your journey. ✈️📸
