Buenos Aires is an amazing city to visit. To me it's one of those cities I can visit more than once. It has so many beautiful places, parks, history, wonderful architecture and also lots of street art. On my second visit last year I stayed in the district of Palermo. Even though you will find street art in most districts, some of the best pieces of art are probably found here in the district of Palermo. Especially Soho and Palermo Viejo. Both are within the Palermo neighbourhood. Because our hotel was in Palermo, we noticed that this is the place to be if you like street art. Painted houses seems as never- ending. It doesn’t matter in which direction you go, or the size of the street. Murals and graffiti are all over.

These walls with flowers, bees, butterflies etc. were found in some of the smaller streets. Some of the street art in town takes up a whole fasade on multi-story buildings. Many of the paintings with flowers were found mostly on one story buildings that looked more like residentioal houses.

But Buenos Aires also have murals with political themes. Sports, especially football seems to be a national sport. I was in Buenos Aires in January 2023, just after Argentina’s became the winner of the world cup in football. We saw several murals with icons like Messi with the trophy. We also saw many paintings of another great Argentine football player – Maradona.

This is the wall of a barber shop. Quite a way to decorate the wall. Looks like a very scarry place to visit... These were also found in the smaller side streets. Exploring the small streets made us discover all of these diferent artworks. The amazing variety when it comes to street art, certainly has changed the city.
