Visiting and performing Maghrib prayers at the Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque

Alhamdulillah, my husband and I have the same hobby, which is traveling to various places that we have never visited. Sometimes we also visit places that we have visited if the place is memorable for us. When my husband is on leave or my vacation time and the children arrive, that's our chance to surf to various places. That's where I always go on beautiful trips with my family. There are many places that we visit.

My trip with my husband this time was to visit a mosque that I had never seen before, namely the Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque located in Tanjung Buntung Area, Batam City. Riau Islands, Indonesia. https://w3w.co/membara.emping.cengir. I visited this mosque during my vacation last month. At that time my husband was also on leave.

At that time in the afternoon we left home for the Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque after my mother-in-law who happened to live in Batam City recommended a beautiful place that we should visit. After an hour of travel we finally arrived at the Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque, this mosque is located in a fairly luxurious residential area.

My first impression when I arrived in front of the Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque was a feeling of amazement and disbelief because the building in front of me was very beautiful. I have never seen a mosque that is this beautiful. I felt like I was in China. The architectural form of the building, the ornaments and the paint color of this mosque are very similar to a Chinese temple which is a place of worship for Confucianists and also similar to a monastery which is a place of worship for Buddhists.

When I stepped into the mosque yard I was very happy. My husband was also amazed. My husband who currently works in Batam City also just found out that there is this unique mosque here. The mosque building is dominated by bright red. On the front there is a sign that says Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque. Maybe if I didn't read the writing I wouldn't know that this unique building is a mosque building.

Not only the red paint color that resembles a Chinese temple and monastery but the design of the dome, all the carvings, decorative lights, lanterns color the beauty of the Muhammad Cheng Hoo mosque. On the side of the mosque there is a place that looks like a terrace but is spacious. This place can also be used as a place to pray when the congregation is full inside the mosque.

However, this part is also usually used as a place to study and rest. After exploring the mosque building, I then stepped into the interior of the Muhammad Cheng Hoo mosque. When I was inside the mosque, I saw decorative lights installed in the middle of the mosque. The beautiful and quite large lights looked graceful and beautiful. I kept taking photos with my cellphone.

I will not miss the beautiful photos of the Muhammad Cheng Hoo mosque with my husband. My husband also took a lot of my poses which will be memories for me. According to history, the Muhammad Cheng Hoo mosque was built in 2015.

This mosque with a distinctive nuance of the bamboo curtain country of China was apparently built by a successful businessman in Batam City. The purpose of this is to commemorate the history of the journey of an Admiral from the mainland of China and his men to our country Indonesia who brought the teachings of Islam. The construction of this mosque proves that there is acculturation between Chinese and Indonesian cultures.

Without realizing it, the call to prayer for Maghrib prayer began to resound melodiously from the Muhammad Cheng Hoo mosque. The congregation began to fill the mosque which was indeed not too big. Some of the congregation came from the surrounding area and some others seemed to be on vacation and enjoying the beauty of this mosque. Long queues began to appear at the ablution area and the restroom located on the side of the mosque. And we performed the Maghrib prayer in congregation.

That was my visit this time to the Muhammad Cheng Hoo mosque this time. A beautiful mosque with a unique nuance similar to a house of worship in China. My experience of beautiful places worth visiting has increased, this is one of the mosques that I recommend you visit someday when you are in Batam city.
