Hoy comparto con ustedes mi entrada al concurso 5 lugares favoritos de su ciudad.

Para empezar, debo contarles que, aunque soy venezolana, actualmente vivo en Brasil, emigre hace dos años y en ese tiempo he podido visitar algunos lugares bonitos de la ciudad, que me encantaría compartir con ustedes.

Vivo en la Ciudad Salvador, Estado Bahía de Brasil. Esta es una hermosa cuidad que da de frente con el océano Atlántico, tiene muchos lugares con historia y culturales que llaman la atención al turismo, y hay lugares que son de descanso, paseo y solo para pasar el rato.

De estos dos años que tenemos aquí en Brasil, hemos pasado más de un año en cuarentena por la pandemia, por lo cual no hemos podido visitar muchos lugares, ni pasear como quisiéramos, la salud está en primer lugar, aun así, de vez en cuando nos escapamos, con todas las medidas de bioseguridad necesarias para no contagiarnos de Covid-19, pero poder disfrutar de algo de esparcimiento que también forma parte de la salud mental.

Today I share with you my entry to the contest 5 favorite places in your city.
To begin with, I must tell you that, although I am Venezuelan, I currently live in Brazil, I emigrated two years ago and in that time I have been able to visit some beautiful places in the city, which I would love to share with you.
I live in the city of Salvador, Bahia State, Brazil. This is a beautiful city that faces the Atlantic Ocean, it has many historical and cultural places that call the attention to tourism, and there are places that are for rest, walk and just to hang out.
Of these two years that we have here in Brazil, we have spent more than a year in quarantine because of the pandemic, so we have not been able to visit many places, or walk as we would like, health is in first place, even so, from time to time we escape, with all the necessary biosecurity measures to not get infected with Covid-19, but to enjoy some recreation that is also part of mental health.

El primer lugar que les mostrare será una playa, esta queda bien cerquita de donde vivo, se llama la Orla de Boca do Rio: lWhat3words

De este lugar me gusta que tiene una caminería donde podemos pasear y contemplar el mar, escuchar las olas, sentir la brisa marina, es muy relajante, se puede ir a andar en bicicleta, tomarse un agua de coco, en fin, a pasarla bien.

The first place I will show you is a beach, it is very close to where I live, it is called Orla de Boca do Rio:
I like this place because it has a path where we can walk and contemplate the sea, listen to the waves, feel the sea breeze, it is very relaxing, you can go cycling, take a coconut water, in short, to have a good time.

El segundo lugar es un centro comercial, al que hemos ido varias veces, se llama Salvador Shopping: lWhat3words

No es de los más grandes de la cuidad, pero tenemos varios lugares favoritos allí, como algunas tiendas donde venden variedad de chocolates y ofertas interesantes, también a veces nos comemos un helado o algo que nos provoque. Es un lugar bonito y tranquilo que vale la penar ir a conocer con la familia, caminar, ver tiendas, tomarse fotos.

The second place is a shopping mall, which we have been to several times, called Salvador Shopping,
It is not one of the biggest in the city, but we have several favorite places there, like some stores where they sell a variety of chocolates and interesting offers, also sometimes we eat an ice cream or something that provokes us. It is a nice and quiet place that is worth to go with the family, walk around, see stores, take pictures.

El tercer lugar es el Parque Zoobotanico de Salvador: lWhat3words

Pudimos visitar este lugar meses antes de que ocurriera la pandemia, es super lindo, porque a pesar de ser un zoológico, donde el concepto es tener animales enjaulados, en este los ambientes en los que están los animales son bastante amplios, y adaptados para que los animales se sientan cómodos, por ejemplo, podemos encontrar monos pequeños sueltos por todo el parque, que se acercan a las personas, se toman fotos y es muy divertido, a nosotros nos sorprendió cuando estábamos comiendo que llegaron y querían nuestra comida.

Allí en la foto estamos mi hija y yo en un espacio grande donde están las aves, es muy bonito y relajante estar alli y contemplar la naturaleza en accion.

The third place is the Salvador Zoobotanical Park:
We were able to visit this place months before the pandemic happened, it is super nice, because despite being a zoo, where the concept is to have caged animals, in this one the environments where the animals are are quite spacious, and adapted so that the animals feel comfortable, for example, we can find small monkeys loose all over the park, they approach people, take pictures and it is very funny, we were surprised when we were eating that they came and wanted our food.
There in the picture my daughter and I are in a big space where the birds are, it is very nice and relaxing to be there and contemplate nature in action.

El cuanto lugar es otra playa, esta se llama Farol de Itapua: lWhat3words

Esta playa queda más al norte de la ciudad, es una de las más famosas y concurridas por los turistas y es por que como su nombre lo indica, allí se encuentra un Faro antiguo, que guiaba las embarcaciones que pasaban por la costa. La playa se caracteriza por tener muchas piedras, y de allí vienen el nombre Itapuá, que se origina de la lengua indígena Tupi, Ita=Piedra y Puã=erigido o según algunas personas con las que he conversado, dicen que significa “Piedra que ronca”, por el hecho de que en la parte donde rompen las olas en la playa tienen muchas rocas y hace ese sonido.

The next place is another beach, this one is called Farol de Itapua:
This beach is more to the north of the city, is one of the most famous and crowded by tourists and is because as its name suggests, there is an old lighthouse, which guided the boats passing along the coast. The beach is characterized by having many stones, and from there comes the name Itapuá, which originates from the indigenous Tupi language, Ita = Stone and Puã = erigido or according to some people with whom I have spoken, they say it means "Stone that snores", by the fact that in the part where the waves break on the beach have many rocks and makes that sound.

Y por último pero muy importante, el quinto lugar que más me gusta es un lugar especial, pues se trata de un Salón de Asambleas, ubicado en la ciudad vecina Camaçari: lWhat3words

Este se trata de un complejo de salones, o auditorios, cada uno con capacidad para recibir 5000 personas, el detalle de su construcción es que fue hecho con mano de obra voluntaria, y materiales de construcción donados por personas de todo el país. Allí se efectúan grandes asambleas religiosas donde las personas de varios estados de la zona nordeste de Brasil vienen a escuchar.

Yo he asistido en dos ocasiones allí, es hermoso, su planificación y diseño abierto permiten que la brisa circule, que se aproveche la sombra al máximo, y sea agradable estar allí, pero lo más lindo de todo son los jardines que rodean los auditorios, perfectos para tomarse fotos, y admirar la belleza de la naturaleza. Extraño mucho ese lugar, pues debido a la pandemia no se pueden hacer grandes aglomeraciones. Esperamos que en el futuro podamos volver allí.

And last but very important, the fifth place that I like the most is a special place, because it is an Assembly Hall, located in the neighboring city of Camaçari.
This is a complex of halls, or auditoriums, each with a capacity to receive 5000 people, the detail of its construction is that it was made with volunteer labor, and construction materials donated by people from all over the country. Large religious assemblies are held there, where people from several states in the northeastern part of Brazil come to listen.
I have been there twice, it is beautiful, its planning and open design allows the breeze to circulate, the shade to be used to the maximum, and it is pleasant to be there, but the most beautiful of all are the gardens surrounding the auditoriums, perfect for taking pictures, and admiring the beauty of nature. I miss that place very much, because due to the pandemic it is not possible to make big crowds. Hopefully in the future we will be able to go back there.
