Hello to all beautiful men and women of this wonderful community! How are you all today? I hope everything is well with you and your family. Greetings of peace and love from the Philippines 🇵🇭

It's another great Saturday today. And I'm making it my sharing day today. It might be very simple and isn't much, but I hope I could in a way inspire others to do their little things of helping out other people. This is my third feeding activity. And I am planning together with my family that we are going to do this every weekend- may it be here in Mactan (where I live with my husband) or in Olango Island (whenever we visit my husband's family). Everyday and everywhere could be an opportunity to help others anytime and in any possible way.

So for today, together with Mama Myrna, we cooked and served chocolate porridge for my neighbors- both kids and adults. My husband @hulyootso was having his skills assessment at TESDA, so while he was there, I and Mama proceeded with our feeding activity.

We prepared the ingredients ready for our chocolate porridge. Chocolate porridge is one of the favorite afternoon snacks of many Filipino kids. When I was a kid myself, I love eating champorado or chocolate porridge together with my brothers and cousins. We will be cooking our chocolate porridge using sansan or sawdust in a big can. Since it will take a longer time to cook the porridge because of the quantity that we are going to cook, using sansan will be cost efficient and it will help the porridge to cook/boil quick because of its concentrated heat and fire.

These are the pictures while cooking the champorado:

And finally our chocolate porridge is done! So we called our neighbors, both kids and adults to line up bringing with them their bowls and cups. The children excitedly came with their bowls and enjoyed their porridge. Some adults also bring with them their bowls for their family. I told the kids and my adult neighbors that they could come for a refill since we still have more chocolate porridge. Some came back and had a take two and three of the champorado. It really is a great and humbling experience to able to do even a simple thing like this.

These are some of our pictures while doing our feeding activity:

After the feeding activity, the kids and adults have big smiles on their faces. Most of them expressed their gratefulness through their smiles and some even said: "Salamat ate ma'am." Thank you big sister ma'am. Hehe that's what they fondly call me in our neighborhood: ate ma'am. Ate for big sister and ma'am because of me being a teacher. So, ate ma'am.

I gladly told them that we are going to do this every weekend. So I will be calling them again next Saturday or Sunday for our next feeding activity. Some kids even exclaimed: Yeheyyy!!! They could only express their excitement for the next weekend! These kids have really great appreciation for even the simplest of things. And I am one grateful soul to be able to bring simple joy to these kids. It really means a lot to me.
