"Timphan Traditional Aceh Cake"
Greetings all steemwomenclub friends...
Tomorrow we Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha or commonly called the Feast of Sacrifice. It has become a tradition for us Acehnese, if the holiday provides timphan. So today I made a timphan cake filled with srikaya jam or commonly in Acehnese called timphan asoe kaya. And I will share recipes for all steemwomenclub friends.
Materials for the pads:
- prepare some banana leaves daun
- Cut the banana leaves into small squares
Ingredients for dough:
- 500 grams of glutinous rice flour
- 500 grams of ground pumpkin
- enough liquid coconut milk
- a little salt
- 150 liters of cooking oil for greasing (preheated)
Ingredients for srikaya jam:
- 6 whole eggs
- 2 pcs vanilla
- 200 grams of sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 pandan leaf
- 1 cup thick coconut milk
How to make the dough:
- Peel the ground pumpkin, cut into cubes and wash clean then Boil the ground pumpkin with enough coconut milk, once cooked set aside.
- After the pumpkin cools, finely mash and mix with glutinous rice flour, add salt, mix by hand until the dough is smooth.
How to make sri kaya jam:
- Crack 6 eggs, add vanilla, sugar and cornstarch, mixer until all mixed well
- Turn off the mixer, put all the ingredients for the Sri Kaya jam into the skillet.
- Enter the thick coconut milk and pandan leaves, stir continuously until the jam is cooked.
How to make a timpan:
- take a little dough and shape it round
-Take a piece of banana leaf that has been cut into small (square) - Put a little cooking oil so that the timphan doesn't stick to the banana leaves daun
- then take the dough that has been in the shape of a thin round (if I use a dinner plate, I press rotate)
Then add the sri kaya jam and wrap the dough again with banana leaves. - after all the timpan finished in the dressing, steam for 25 minutes.
- Wait a few moments to cool, and the timpan is ready to be served.
That's the srikaya jam timphan recipe that I made today, I hope you all like it.
