Everyone knows about Venice but not many know about the wood, Venice is made on. Almost all the wood comes from a Slovenian area called Kras. Today, this place is dry, has strong winds all the time, and life is quite challenged. We have even a word for the winds, which are here. It is called "burja" and the peak speed gets all to 200km/h. All the lost trees changed this landscape and life for sure.
