Interesting question; I had to analyse it briefly for myself: I don't see steemen as a job. Clearly - I associate a job with earning a living, a regular (more or less ;-)) income. But hobby doesn't fit either; a hobby can sometimes not be practised for months until it becomes interesting again...

Perhaps the closest thing is: voluntary work. For various reasons, you feel obliged to be regularly and authentically present. And there is a small expense allowance.
