Ella es Skippy, una gata embarazada que vive en el interior del antiguo Hotel París, ubicado en la céntrica calle 68 en Mérida, justo a casi un lado de mi casa. Cuando salgo a realizar la compra de víveres o voy a la biblioteca, ella y su compañero, un gato gris llamado Slappy, siempre salen a mi encuentro para pedirme comida.

Si por mí fuera, podría adoptarlos, pero desafortunadamente los perros que tengo en casa no son muy amigueros con los gatos. Por lo consiguiente, prefiero verlos en el interior del edificio, donde los trabajadores también les da alguno que otro taco. Al menos allá tienen dónde dormir sin correr el peligro de que un perro se meta con ellos.

La buena noticia es que una amiga de mi tía irá a recoger a Skippy y a Slappy la próxima semana, por lo que tengo la esperanza de que encuentren en ella hogar y protección de las inclemencias de la calle.

This is Skippy, a pregnant cat that lives inside the old Hotel Paris, located in the 68th street in Merida, almost along my home. When do the groceries or go to the library, she and her partner, a grey cat named Slappy, always come out to meet me to ask for food.

If it were by me, I could adopt them both, but unfortunately the dogs at home are not so cat friendly. Therefore, I prefer to see them inside the building, where the staff also give them the occasional food. At least there they have a place to sleep without the risk of a dog messing with them.

The good news is that a friend of my aunt will go to pick Skippy and Slappy next week, so I hope they could find with her a home and prontection from the inclementness of the streets.
