When I speak with him, it feels like there is no respect any more. His emotional intelligence has always been very poor and he isn't aware that he upsets people. I think that my sister realised a long time ago not to discuss things with him but because I live further away, it has taken me longer to realise. Whilst I'd rather have a relationship with my brother where we can sit down, discuss things and laugh together, the relationship will be better and more peaceful if I keep things simple and save my conversation for others.
