⚠️ Is Your Content Being Stolen?steemCreated with Sketch.

I've recently been told about a new site that's another Fork of Steemit. It's called Voilk and as with most Blockchain Social Media, I'd recommend creating an account with your username before the scammers get there.

Unfortunately for some users, it's already too late and the likes of @axeman and @stef1 have already had their identities cloned.

I had a quick look through the content on their website and a lot of it looked familiar and everything about the website felt off. So I thought I'd search for the post that I shared yesterday and lo and behold, it had been posted under a different username.

So I decided to search the posts for any comments which would indicate some kind of genuine activity from registered users and found very little until I stumbled across a post where the website creators state:

Voilk is a free platform, everyone is allowed to copy posts, from where ever they want, and share with the voilk users.
We don't believe in cyber crimes, or content piracy. you are not among the founders or the voilk team, hence you don't have the power to define the company's policy.
Every user of the platform, is free to share whatever they want.

A somewhat outrageous statement that Voilk supports copyright infringement.

You can probably guess, this attitude pisses me off.

So I've looked up their domain name provider and it's GoDaddy so in accordance with their Copyright and Trademark Claims Policy, I submitted a Copyright Complaint using this form.

I recommend that all of you reading this search for your content on Voilk and submit a claim with GoDaddy and request that their domain name is suspended with immediate effect.

Here's a link to that form again - https://ipclaims.godaddy.com/

UPDATE: If you like a bit of irony...

UPDATE: All links to voilk have been removed so as not to benefit their SEO.

OMG, they stole your post about them stealing content?
That is very alarming for me, when it comes to my art.
Not so the username. I do not like to give details to websites like that, so I do not want to open an account there.
But, great catch!

If content and usernames were stolen, and nothing was done about it, then all the rest is not important. It is a place to stay away from. The owners should take steps to prevent such things.

He’s upset because he got caught for his scamming and I’ve reported him to the police in Pakistan 🤷‍♂️

I wish these things would not happen. There is so much to be made without stealing content.

Hopefully the police will do what they need to and we can have one less scammer in society.

That is very annoying, but it is an open source so anyone can create a clone of Steemit and copy content. As said it is decentralised platform.

The only thing is if the content of many users will appear there then Steemit team will not consider it as steemexclusive. @steemcurator01, would you please visit this post so that you are aware that many accounts from Steemit already cloned and the daily posts appearing there coped and pasted by spammers.

We would not consider this copy site when looking at steem-exclusivity.

El autor de todo este plagio es @ bilal-haider, si deseas detalles contactarme por discord

No man, it is not me, It is someone else

Te espera un ramadan bien largo

Wow, the scammers are in full swing looking to fish in troubled waters, I hope not many innocent people fall into this trap.

I hope so too. It's been reported to a few relevant authorities in the hope that the site's removed and the people responsible are punished.

It's one thing to create a few fake profiles to farm rewards but a completely different level of illegality when a website's created in an effort to defraud people.

Copying and pasting content is one thing... but wasting your time creating an entirely new platform to do it is another level!

El clon tiene un año y medio de creado, el negocio está en invitar a nuevos usuarios a comprarle voilk al creador del clon con la ilusión de tener mayor poder de voto, pero el voilk no se puede cambiar en mercados externos.

.. totally agreed, it is extremely stupid thing to do, unless you get paid doing it, then it is super smart :o

Realmente tienes razón, es un acto bien estupido

Thanks @stef1 👍

It is extremely annoying, what they are doing. it is totally unacceptable
