Every place changes with time and this is inevitable, be it a building, a road, a street, anything that would be of interest to a visitor. Sometimes I like, if I have the opportunity, to make these comparisons through my own photos - one taken at this place now/one taken after 5 years, for example. The differences are often jarring. But this here is something different. It is a work in progress, a masterpiece that is at every moment complete, but at the same time undergoing changes. The differences in condition here are even more dramatic, I guess, given the way you describe it. It's like visiting a place over and over again, and always seeing it differently because it's indeed different. It is an ever-changing masterpiece in the way that only nature can do it, because it is, as I have said before, the greatest artist. And what is greater than that!
