Seated up and loving the vibe!
Who remembers that sofa update I promised? No one! Well, my silly brain...
Yes, yes, I'm sharing an update on the sofa DIY: Seat me Up. No, I didn't make this sofa or these sofas myself. But standing over his heads to get it done is no easy task... Especially when the craftsman is always in a hurry and short on time.
completed piece: there are two of these
So, a total of 6 seats have been added to the house. The sofas are quite comfortable. There's one set in the TV lounge, which is a two-seater, and the other two two-seaters, meaning 4 seats, have been added to the guest room.

Not that we have that many guests coming over, but let's say: it's good to be prepared!
The sofa on top of this image, with wooden armrests, is a government-issued one, while the checkered brown one is our personal set. So, we got the new sofas made to match their shades. I was leaning towards something colorful, maybe green, but dear husband insisted on brown. According to him, we're not looking to make circus ponies here—they should be decent and simple! But I have to admit, they turned out pretty good. The brown adds a cozy, timeless vibe to the rooms, and they blend seamlessly with the existing furniture. Maybe next time, I’ll convince him to go for a pop of color.
I was planning to fulfill my love for colour specifically: green, with the settee and post an update after it was complete. But as I mentioned before, the esteemed craftsman is always in a rush... He has left their tools and materials for my settee behind and disappeared!
I'm absolutely in love with the checkered back of my new sofa. The upholstery fabric (two curtains) I originally bought turned out to be short, but luckily, I had some extra fabric. I decided to use that for the sofa's back, and now it's my favorite part of the whole piece!
The sofa is really coming together beautifully! I love how the colors compliment each other, giving it a cozy yet classy look. The craftsman has done a wonderful job with the details, and the overall look is both modern and timeless. I can already imagine how it will elevate the entire room once it’s done.
I was thinking all of this when this piece was being made...
Looking at the sofas now, I'm honestly surprised by how well they've turned out. What started as a bit of a hectic project with a very rushed craftsman/upholsterer and fabric surprises has turned into something really cozy and stylish. The brown tones fit perfectly, adding a warm, timeless feel to the space. It's been fun watching everything come together, and even though the settee is still a work in progress, I can already picture how these pieces will continue to shape the room.
So this was my sofa update...
This was necessary before another DIY update... Otherwise, the conversation wouldn't make sense... :))
Here's a sneak peek into my our next project:
Hey that looks really awesome
Well done!
Thank you :)
What can I say, looks like a brand new sofa 🙂. And I was also very impressed by your decorative corner in the previous post. A little skillful hands, a little good imagination - this is the recipe for getting a good result 😃

These are 'ghuggo ghoras'. I mean seriously, is there anything between them? Or it's either browns or 'ghoggo ghoras' / Circus ponies...
I will send you close-ups of these sofas if you need them :)

Hahahahaha ghoghu ghora is crying in the corner. Kya kasoor tha bechare ka.
By the way, brown is way too decent but green sofas are also innovative. See below image taken from google.
Pretty na?
But again it's the same like wanting to dress all green and then thinking it will be too much or more like ghughu ghora:(
Yes yes do share their closeups. We are looking for sofa seat covers and wanting a decent one like nude shades. But mother says it'll get dirty soon. It's for living room.

Go for gray, maybe.
Yeah, grey has more votes in my house. I want beige though, let's see who wins this war🤞

I have both beige and gray sofas. Both look great. Although, my beige ones are in the drawing room (less traffic 😀) and gray ones are in the living.

I can attest to the perfection of these sofas. You didn't tell me the fabric of the one in the living area. It was so soft.
Circus ponies... 🤣
Bhai has good sense of humor.
Your new project looks interesting... 😉
I got sick next morning after our creative session... couldn't catch up.

Same shop. Didn't i tell you?
Thank you for your part in these sofas and "our" new project. Will keep you updated... There's a bit of a hitch in that one.
He may have good sense of humour but he is devoid of the rangeeni... Or as we say: pop of colour

My pleasure. I know it's from the same shop but the fabric material is something new for me.
I see.
It's ok. Brown brings timelessness as you said. Most of the other colours quickly go out of trend.
