Baridhara is an elite area of the Dhaka. It is 5 am. The morning sun has not yet risen. Daniel leaves his house with his son Max. They will circle the entire area twice. It takes them about two hours to circle these two times. During this time, the two of them also tell various funny stories.
Once upon a time Max's mother was with them. For the past few days, Elena has been separated. Elena is Max's mother. Max cannot understand why his mother is leaving the two of them. He wants to ask his father about this. But he cannot dare to say it. Max remembers how much laughter and jokes there were when they went out for morning walks with his mother. His father, Daniel, always had a happy expression on his face. His father used to make everyone laugh. The time was also very joyful. At that time, morning walks meant an expression of joy.
For several days, both father and Max had gone out for morning walks, but Max could tell that a tune had been lost somewhere. Father Daniel was no longer the same. He had a smile on his face to make his son happy, but there was no life in that smile. His words were also so different,
They both started running. They finished a round with great difficulty. Now they sat down on a bench to rest.
Max saw the look of worry on his father's face and Max dared to ask - Dad, what happened between you and Mam? Even though I am young, if you can tell me, then share it with me.
Daniel stared at his son for a while. He had not expected the question his son had asked him today. But he knew that he would have to face such a question someday.
Daniel drank a little water from the water flask he had with him. He coughed and cleared his throat. Then he told his son with courage, everything will be fine.
But Daniel knew that nothing would be right. The situation was getting worse day by day.
A month ago, many people from the area attended a party. The party went on until late at night. That day, Daniel had too many drinks. He was behaving like a drunk. At one point, he hugged a neighbor. The neighbor could not take it lightly, so she went to complain to Elena. This incident remained after the party. Elena asked Daniel about this at night. Both of them were heated. As the incident escalated, Daniel slapped Elena hard on the cheek. Daniel's strong hand slapped Elena's cheek, and it turned red. Elena was so surprised that she could not say anything. The next morning, Elena left the house with all her belongings.
Daniel could not understand whether it was all his fault. Elena was not at fault? He might have just slapped her out of anger, so Elena didn't do anything wrong? She also mistreated him. Will she leave them like this? Not only that, she also threatened to send a lawyer's notice for divorce.
How will he tell his son this at this moment? Daniel sat down and started thinking.
Meanwhile, Max saw his father sitting quietly and went forward. He urged him to give a second round. Daniel stood up with a shy smile at his son. He started running with his son by his side. Today, he felt like he had grown up. He made up his mind to run and tell his son all about his mistakes.
In the middle of running, Daniel went to the theme, he looked at his son. He sat on the ground with his son. He told his son about all his mistakes.
Max said to his father - Dad, I want both of you. Can I talk to Mom once?
Daniel handed the phone to his son.
Max called his mother, went a little away, and continued talking to Mom. They talked for about half an hour. Daniel could not understand what had happened between them. Max came closer and handed the phone to his father. Mom will talk to you.
Daniel spoke to Elena on the phone. Elena forgot all her anger and spoke to Daniel. Elena told Daniel to prepare breakfast. Who would say that Elena had left him? Elena was the one who wanted to divorce him. What magic did his son do today, what Daniel could not do for so long, his son did.
Is this what a mother calls a son's love? Maybe all his anger at his son's words has ended.
Whatever the case, Elena is coming back into his life, that's the big deal. Daniel kissed his son on the forehead. Then he stood up to finish the unfinished race with his son. He was very happy today. He started running beside his son, proud of him, and an unknown happiness filled his heart.
